The Right Length for your resume

Don’t make this error with the length of your resume.

I want to talk to opportunity seekers about the length of your resume. In the world of software sales vertical, a resume should generally never exceed two to three pages. It doesn’t matter how much experience you have.

Even if you have more than 15 years of experience, you do not need to include detailed bullet points for each position. People are unlikely to review such outdated information.

Instead, you can include the company name, dates, and job title for each position, which will help keep the resume within the recommended limit. For software sales, you should focus on your track record of historical success in prior positions and include information on the products you sold and your customer base or vertical.
