Why having both a Resume and a Linkedin profile is still the best option

Resumes show more detail, while LinkedIn offers quick access and connection—having both will give you an edge in a competitive market.

Do you really need to have a resume and a LinkedIn profile? In today’s job market, the simple answer is yes. Each one serves a different purpose and offers unique values, but having them both can give you a competitive edge.

Resumes typically include more detailed information. Specific accomplishments, customer types, and industry verticals are often listed in greater depth. Metrics such as quota and average deal size are commonly found on resumes, offering a clearer view of past performance.

LinkedIn brings two unique advantages. The profile photo provides a human element, helping to establish a personal connection. It also allows for quick access to company information through clickable links, making it easy to understand an employer’s product or service without lengthy descriptions.

Today, many companies continue to request both documents. Each offers different insights that support hiring decisions. While the future may shift, for now, maintaining both a resume and a LinkedIn profile remains a smart and necessary approach.  If you have any questions or need guidance, feel free to reach out.
